The Drahthaus Kollektiv, founded in 2015, is a consortium of various creatives in Vienna with the vision to question overage structures and build space for something new.
The heart and the start of the collective is the same named band, where 4 musicians perform electronic music live with about twenty instruments, gadgets and effects live on stage. Stylistic variety and metamorphosis are the artistic leitmotif.
Drahthaus is electronica that allows a little pop and wants a little jazz. The ambition to transcend boundaries and make new spaces tangible is a narrative, that runs like a threat through all aspects of the project.
In 2020 they released their debut album (Drahthaus) – an instrumental ridge walk, to witch some like to dance, others like to paint and the third just want close the eyes and drift away. Or as the magazine Profil says: “Fine motor skills à la Aphex Twin”.
Drahthaus are currently working on collaborations with various vocalists. The recently released single Dopamine (feat. Aunty) gained airplay in many radio stations and also hit the 100K on YouTube lately. Not least because the music video deals with a current topic: The inner conflict to party at times of Corona. Worth seeing!
The medium film in general is something the band is very interested in. They are also firmly involved in the production of
their own music videos. 2022 will see the release of the film „FIREWORKS“, set to music by the four of them.

Das 2015 gegründete Drahthaus Kollektiv ist ein Zusammenschluss diverser in Wien lebender Kreativer mit der Vision, alte Strukturen in Frage zu stellen und Raum für Neues zu schaffen.
Herzstück und Ausgangspunkt des Kollektivs ist die gleichnamige Band, bei der vier Musiker mit ca. 20 Instrumenten, Alltagsgegenständen und Effektgeräten elektronische Musik live performen. Stilistische Abwechslung, und Verwandlung sind dabei zentral – Schubladen sind für Socken und Unterwäsche.
Drahthaus hingegen ist elektronisch, darf ein bisschen Pop und will ein bisschen Jazz. Der Wille Grenzen zu überwinden und neue Räume erfahrbar zu machen ist ein roter Faden, der sich durch alle Bereiche des Projekts zieht.
2020 ist das Debütalbum (Drahthaus) erschienen. Eine instrumentale Gratwanderung, zu der die einen gerne tanzen, die anderen gerne malen und die dritten einfach ihre Augen schließen und sich trieben lassen wollen. Oder wie das Magazin Profil sagt: „Feinmotorik à la Aphex Twin“
Derzeit arbeiten Drahthaus mit diversen Vocalist:innen zusammen. Die vor Kurzem veröffentlichte erste Single Dopamine feat. Aunty, hat sich bei diversen Radiostationen großer Beliebtheit erfreut und auch auf YouTube kürzlich die 100K geknackt. Nicht zuletzt, weil das Musikvideo eine aktuelle Thematik behandelt: Feiern in der Corona Pandemie. Sehenswert!
Das Medium Film ist überhaupt etwas, dass die Band sehr interessiert. So produzieren sie die meisten ihrer Musikvideos selbst. 2022 erscheint außerdem der Film „FIREWORKS“, der von den vier Musikern vertont wurde.

Hier dürfen sich viele Künstler*innen, für kurz oder lang, beheimatet fühlen.
Es gibt immer Fenster, durch die gespäht werden kann und neue Räume die gestaltet werden wollen. Ein starkes Fundament trägt das, was unter einem großen Dach vereint wird.
